Frequently asked questions.

Will acupuncture work for me?

It depends. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine can really helps with any problem but it doesn’t mean it works for everyone. It depends on how how long you have had the problem and how severe it is. If it is something like a knee that needs replacing, really bad nasal polyps or even severe endometriosis you may need surgery. If those same problems are mild, acupuncture may be able to help. Always ask it I think I can help you, Ill be honest with you and decades of experience usually mean I have an idea.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends, are you seeing a theme here? I usually want to see positive change in a couple sessions. This could mean you’re more relaxed of sleeping better, pain is better, or your digestion is better. I figure positive change makes the coming to acupuncture worth it.

Does acupuncture hurt??

It’s painless although you can feel a sensation in some points. It depends where it is and what’s going on with you. If a neeedle causes an uncomfortable that is more than a couple seconds I will remove it. I am a believer in painless acupuncture.

Is acupuncture safe in pregnancy?

Yes, it can be very helpful. It can help with nausea and morning sickness, sleep, digestion and when used during pregnancy it can decrease your chances of post partum depression. Actually, some patients of mine theorized that the babies they had after receiving acupuncture during pregnancy were calmer as babies than the kids they had when they did not have acupuncture.
